Final Application

Here are the process shots from my first run through of the makeup.

I used my wig cap as my headband so that I would not have to run my makeup by putting it on later.

I started off with basic corrective on half of my face.  I needed to add a large amount of green corrective to my forehead and nose due to some sunburn I acquired over the break.
The fanning out of my eyebrows took a little longer than expected. But once they were laying the way I wanted I applied the glue.  While I waited for that to dry I traced the outline of the bark appliances so that I could see exactly where I would have to make my eyebrows disappear.

The next step was my moss appliance.  I put the spirit gum on while finishing up my eyebrows and as soon as it was tacky I applied it to my face.

After the moss, I put on the bark appliances in the same way.  They did not stick well around my eyes but that is okay.  I specifically chose to model them after a tree where the bark is known to peel up and leave a red color underneath just in case this happened.

The next step was the add the red under color that appears on the tree.  I started with red then added brown character shadow, then black from my wound pallet and final the same light brown that I used for my highlight in order to create a bark-like texture.  It was not as successful as I would have liked but that is because I did not let the colors dry in between.

A compare and contrast of the two sides of my face

The final look completed with wig and flower crown.  I do want to exaggerate my one eye even more so the next time I run through this makeup I will add more eyeshadow and eyeliner so that it pops a bit more against the black.

Time to take it all off:

I used spirit gum remover, cold cream, and baby shampoo in order to remove everything.  The bark appliances left some sharpie behind on my face as well. And I could not get my eyeliner off of my one eye so I walked around with on glammed up eye.
